It’s Official! Hyundai Aura Bookings Start At Rs 10,000!

• You can now book the Aura via Hyundai’s website or at a dealership.
• The Hyundai Aura will be available in 12 variants and three BS6 engines.
• It is expected to be priced at a slight premium over the Xcent.

Hyundai Motor India has announced that bookings for the Aura sedan have commenced. You can now book an Aura compact sedan for Rs 10,000 at a Hyundai dealership or the company’s website. According to the website, the Aura will be available in four diesel, seven petrol, and one turbo-petrol variant. Prices will be revealed at launch on January 21. Expect Hyundai’s newest sedan to be priced higher than the Xcent, which retails from Rs 5.81 lakh to Rs 8.75 lakh.

As previously reported, dealerships had started accepting unofficial bookings for the Aura a few days after it was revealed on December 19. The booking amount was set from Rs 11,000 to Rs 21,000, depending on the variant. Now, all variants have a uniform booking price both at the dealership as well as through online registration.

You can have the Aura in any one of 12 variants. If you want a manual transmission with the 1.2-litre engine, you can have it in one of four variants -- E, S, SX, and SX (O). A CNG variant is also available in the S trim. AMT automatics can be had in either S or SX+ trim. The 1.2-litre diesel engine powers four variants, the standard transmission S and SX(O) models, and the AMT S and SX+ models.

The turbocharged petrol motor is only available in one trim level, the 1.0 Turbo GDI SX+ with a manual transmission. Interestingly, the turbo-petrol variant is only available in Typhoon Silver, Fiery Red, and Polar White colours. The rest of the range (barring the base E model) can be had in one of six colours.

The Aura stands out in its segment with the turbo-petrol option and a feature list from the Grand i10 Nios hatchback. Hyundai’s Director of Sales, Marketing and Service, Tarun Garg, said, “The Hyundai AURA propagates ‘Sensuous Sportiness’.
