Let's take a look at the previous milestones achieved by Hyundai in India. After commencing commercial production in 1998, the Hyundai Santro became the first car to roll out from the facility. In 2007, Hyundai produced one lakh units of the hatchback in India. This feat was achieved within a period of eight years and seven months. After this, the time taken to reach the subsequent million mark decreased significantly. In 2010, the number reached to two million followed by three, four and five million in 2013, 2015 and 2017, respectively. Time taken for these milestones are as follows:

No. Of Unites Time Taken
2 Million 3 Years and 7 Months
3 Million 2 Years and 8 Months
4 Million 2 Years and 4 Months
5 Million 2 Years

Cars that helped Hyundai reach this milestone include the Creta, Elite i20, Grand i10, Elantra, etc. But let’s talk about the star of the show, the Hyundai Verna, it is the manufacturer’s only offering in the C-segment. The latest-gen Verna was launched early this year and became an instant hit mainly due to its good looks and the features it had on offer. The new Verna is powered by a 1.6-litre petrol and a 1.6-litre diesel engine producing 123PS/150Nm and 128PS/260Nm, respectively. Both engines are mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
