Earlier, Hyundai had revealed the Elantra facelift, which will come in a petrol-only avatar. Now, with just a few days left for its official debut, the variant details and colour options have come to light.

The Hyundai Elantra facelift comes in three trim levels - S, SX and SX (O). A 6-speed automatic transmission will be offered in higher-spec SX and SX(O) variant. Interestingly, the top-spec SX(O) variant doesn’t come with a manual transmission, limiting it to four variants. Take a look at the table below for details of the variant line-up:

Hyundai has confirmed that the Elantra facelift will be offered with BlueLink connected-car tech a la the Venue sub-compact SUV. Read our detailed report on the Blue Link connected-car tech.

The five colour options that are offered are Phantom Black, Marina Blue, Fiery Red, Polar White and Typhoon Silver.

Under the hood, the Elantra facelift will come with the BS6-compliant 2.0-litre petrol engine. In its BS4-guise, the engine developed 152PS and 192Nm and we expect it to be the same in its updated avatar. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and torque converter units. The 1.6-litre CRDi unit that develops 128PS and 260Nm won’t be available with the updated sedan. That said, the Elantra facelift might be offered with the Seltos’ BS6-compliant 1.5-litre diesel unit at a later date. The Seltos’ diesel unit develops 115PS and 250Nm.

Styling updates include a completely restyled front-end with a larger single-piece grille and triangle LED headlamps. Changes to the profile are limited to restyled wheels while the rear-end comes with a restyled tailgate and houses the number plate on the bumper. The new LED tail lamps top the list of updates.

The facelifted Elantra is slated to launch on October 3. Bookings for the sedan are currently open for a token amount of Rs 25,000 at Hyundai showrooms and on the official website. Currently, the Elantra petrol is priced between Rs 13.82 lakh and Rs 18.92 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and we expect the facelifted model to cost around RS 25,000 more. Rivals include the Skoda Octavia, Honda Civic and the Toyota Corolla Altis.
