Hyundai India is upgrading the Grand i10 to meet the stringent BS6 emission norms. Specifications of the Grand i10 BS6 have now been revealed by a RTO document ahead of its launch.
The Grand i10 BS6 will be offered in two variants: Magna and Sportz. It will continue to utilise an upgraded version of the tried and tested 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine from its predecessor. Power figures remain unchanged at 83PS and we expect it to develop an identical 113Nm of torque. The Grand i10 BS6 will be available with a 5-speed manual only.
The CNG variants of the Grand i10 has been axed recently and won’t be upgraded to meet BS6 norms. It developed 66PS of power, 98Nm of torque and came with a 5-speed manual only. If you intend to have a cleaner Grand i10, you need to wait a bit more as Hyundai could launch a CNG variant of the Grand i10 Nios in the near future.
The Hyundai Grand i10 BS6 is expected to be priced more than the current model, which starts from Rs 5.87 lakh (ex-showroom). It will lock horns with the Maruti Suzuki Swift, Ford Figo and the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios.
