Hyundai claims the dampers are stiffer by 30 percent while the steering has been tuned to offer more feedback. Also, rear disc brakes ensure that you have better stopping power. All these upgrades aim to offer a more fun driving experience, but we’ll reserve our verdict until we get behind the wheel.

Powering the i20 N Line is the standard model’s 1-litre turbo-petrol engine developing 120PS and 172Nm. A 6-speed clutchless manual (iMT) and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic are the available transmission options. This setup is identical to the standard model, but the N Line gets a throatier exhaust note to denote it’s the hot hatch.

Now to the design. Up front, the chequered flag-theme grille with N Line badging and the beefier front bumper gives the hatch a more aggressive character. In profile, the hot hatch sits on N-branded alloy wheels to denote it’s the sportier model. Topping up the design are the dual exhausts and plenty of contrasting red touches.

The splashes of red have been carried forward to the inside as well. Apart from that, the N-branded steering wheel, gear-lever, and seat cover with chequered flag theme scream that you’re sitting in the i20 N Line.
