The Hyundai i20 N Line has started reaching dealerships ahead of its launch on September 02. Bookings for the hot hatch are underway for a token of Rs 25,000 via the carmaker’s official website and at Hyundai’s Signature dealerships. The i20 N Line will be offered in two variants: N6 and N8.
Hyundai has done a fairly good job of differentiating the N Line from the standard hatch. The easiest way to tell it from the standard model are sporty-looking red design elements lower down the body, ‘N’-badged alloy wheels, a beefier front bumper, and dual exhausts. Also, the chequered flag-like design on the grille lends the hatchback its distinct identity.
Inside, the seat covers have the same chequered flag theme with red inserts. Also, the ‘N’-badged steering wheel (with paddle shifters in DCT) and gear lever remind you that you’re sitting in the sportier i20.

The features are nearly identical to the standard hatchback. It comes with a 10.25-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car tech, a single-pane sunroof, a wireless phone charger, digital driver display, and cruise control.

Passenger safety is taken care of by six airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors with camera, electronic stability control, and tyre pressure monitoring.
A lot of work is said to have gone underneath the skin to ensure that the i20 N Line is a fun handler. Hyundai claims the damper has been stiffened by 30 percent and the steering retuned for better feedback. And topping all of that is a throaty exhaust note.
However, amid all these changes, what hasn’t been altered is the engine. The i20 N Line will continue with the same 120PS 1-litre turbo-petrol unit as the standard car. It can be paired with a 6-speed clutchless manual (iMT) or an optional 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
The Hyundai i20 N Line will likely be priced from around Rs 12 lakh. It will square off against the Volkswagen Polo GT TSI. To know what separates the i20 N Line and the Polo GT TSI on paper, you can check out our detailed spec comparo.
