Hyundai Cars India Pvt Ltd. has updated the variant options for the Grand i10. The company has now introduced an automatic transmission option for the Magna variant, which now has been priced at Rs 6.21 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The Korean manufacturer has been making tweaks to the trim options for its products and, for the Grand i10 the manufacturer had previously discontinued the top Asta model while offering driver side airbags as an option for all the variants.
The Grand i10 Magna variant is equipped with the basic convenience equipments such as power windows, air-conditioning, keyless entry, rear AC vents. Positioned under the top spec variant, the Magna does miss out on features like parking sensors, push button start, steering height adjust, cool box, leather wrapped steering wheel and integrated audio system. On the safety front, the car misses out on ABS and dual airbags.
The 4-speed automatic gearbox comes mated to the 1.2 Kappa Dual VTVT petrol engine that registers 83PS of power at 6,000rpm and 114Nm of peak torque at 4,000rpm. The car has a 43-litre fuel tank and runs on 14-inch wheels.
In India, the Hyundai Grand i10 faces stiff competition from the Nissan Micra which is also offered with a CVT gearbox option, followed by the Honda Brio with a 5-speed automatic.
Hyundai had also recently launched the special edition versions of the Grand i10 and the Xcent. Both these editions have been introduced to commemorate Hyundai's 20 years in the Indian automotive market. The special edition models are equipped with sporty decals on the exteriors while the inside receives a 6.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system and dual-tone black and red upholstery.
