Just like the Grand i10, the Elite i20 has received a standard price hike of Rs 7,000. However, it is not a BS6 upgrade yet. However, it will get the upgrade soon. The 1.4-litre CRDI engine won’t be upgraded to meet BS6 norms and will be axed eventually. The BS6-compliant 1.2-litre unit is expected to develop an identical 83PS and 114Nm. It’ll be available with a 5-speed manual and a CVT.
Meanwhile, Hyundai India has rolled out its three millionth made-in-India car from its Sriperumbudur plant in Chennai. The special vehicle is the Aura, also known as the Grand i10 Aura in select markets.
