Hyundai Elite i20 sells 10,500 units in November

Hyundai’s Elite i20 has been extremely well received. The company has issued a release stating that 10,500 units of the premium hatchback were sold in November 2014, making it the second best selling premium hatchback last month after the Maruti Swift. Considering Hyundai has a considerably smaller network and the Elite i20 is more expensive than the Swift, it is quite the performance. The Elite i20 was launched in August.

Hyundai also states that since its launch, the company has received over 56,000 bookings in a span of four months. Increasing sales and positive response has urged Hyundai to increase production of the Elite i20. Rakesh Srivastava, Sr. VP, Sales and Marketing - HMIL expressed, “We are overwhelmed by 56,000 customer bookings on strong appreciation and acceptance of the new Elite i20 making it a huge success. The demand of Elite i20 has doubled and in November we sold 10,500 units. We are working towards increasing its production for faster deliveries.”

The Elite i20 is priced between Rs 4.9 lakh to Rs 7.67 lakh ex-showroom Delhi. It comes with a 1.2-litre 83PS petrol motor and a 1.4-litre 90PS diesel mill with an ARAI rated efficiency figure of 18.5kmpl and 21.9kmpl respectively.
