The wait for Hyundai’s hotly anticipated sub-4 metre SUV for India will be over soon as the Venue is all set for launch in May. With an official reveal scheduled for April 17 in India alongside a global reveal at the New York International Auto Show, the sub-compact SUV will mark the carmaker’s entry into the segment. It will take on the likes of the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Ford Ecosport and the recently launched XUV300. As confirmed by dealers, the bookings for the Venue are likely to commence by the fag end of this month.
What is it?
While it’s been in the making since quite some time now, we recently got detailed features and images of the upcoming Hyundai SUV, which was spied without camouflage for the first time. From what we have seen so far, the Venue is shaping up to be a feature loaded and stylish offering from Hyundai. Not only will it get a choice of petrol and diesel powertrains at launch, it will also feature an all-new dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
WIth its mini Creta-like design, modern bumper-integrated headlamps and DRLs, sunroof, stylish dual-tone alloys, and an aggressive stance, it will be head-tuner for sure. Being a Hyundai, the Venue will come loaded with a host of premium features on the inside as well. These will include an 8-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control and cruise control.
Connected & Clever
Hyundai is known for offering the best features on its cars, but with the Venue, the carmaker is going one step further. What is likely to help the Venue stand apart from its competition is a host of smart connected features. Like the upcoming MG Hector, the Venue will also get eSIM connectivity, with a network from Vodafone Idea. It will enable advanced safety features, vehicle monitoring and remote access.
The Venue will get Hyundai’s BlueLink technology with 33 connected features to help the owner in the time of a mishap, distress, roadside assistance, tracking the vehicle or simply operating functions like the climate control remotely. Hyundai claims that 10 of these are purely India-specific features.
Expected to be priced in the range of Rs 8 lakh to Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom), the Venue has already created quite a buzz in the market. We’ll keep you posted about more info including variants and other details, post the official unveil of the Hyundai Venue.
