Hyundai India only offers this option on the SX trim for petrol (1.0 Turbo) and diesel (1.4 CRDI)
  • Expected to make its way to the SX(O) and SX+ variants for petrol and diesel.
  • A premium of Rs 15,000 is likely over the top-spec variants.
  • The Venue is offered in a total of five variant trims and three engine options.
  • It rivals the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport, and the Mahindra XUV300.

When Hyundai India launched the Venue compact SUV back in May this year with a price range of Rs 6.50 lakh to Rs 11.11 lakh (ex-showroom India), it was offered with a dual-tone option only in the SX variant in petrol and diesel trims. These came with a price tag of Rs 9.69 lakh (petrol) and Rs 9.93 lakh (diesel) (ex-showroom Delhi). This variant is a step below the top-spec. However, Hyundai is now planning to introduce dual-tone options for the top-spec variants as well. The variants are likely to be the SX(O) petrol and diesel, as well as the petrol-only SX+ DCT. If you’re a fan of the Venue’s design, we’ve had a glimpse at the upcoming 2020 Creta, which you can read about here.

The Venue is offered 5 variants: E, S, SX, SX(O) and SX+ with three engine options. Hyundai currently offers three dual paint options- Lava Orange, Denim Blue and Polar White. It is likely that these options as well as additonal options could come in the top-spec variants. The petrol options include a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo-petrol, good for 120PS/172Nm, and paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT. The other petrol option is a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated unit, which makes 83PS/115Nm, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The diesel variants are powered by a 1.4-litre unit that makes 90PS/220Nm paired with a 6-speed manual.

The Hyundai Venue has been pitched as India’s first connected SUV with Hyundai Blue Link and accompanying features. Some of them include an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, climate control, six airbags, electronic stability control and hill assist.
