IBW 2016: UM Motorcyles showcase Renegade duo

The UM Motorcycles stall at the 2016 IBW motorcycle event in Goa had the Renegade Commando and the Renegade Sports S cruiser motorcycles along with UM branded apparel range

At the ongoing 2016 India Bike Week (IBW) in Goa, UM Motorcycles showcased its new range of cruiser bikes from the Renegade range. The American bikemaker had recently launched the UM Renegade Commando and the Renegade Sport S at the 2016 Auto Expo at Rs 1.59 lakh and Rs 1.49 lakh respectively (both ex-showroom Delhi). Apart from its range of motorcycles and apparel on display at its pavilion, UM Motorcycles also bought famous celebrity tattoo artist Vikas Malani, for people who wanted to get inked at the event. 

Talking about UM Motorcycles’ India Bike Week participation, Rajeev Mishra – Director – UML, said, “We were happy to be at the biggest bike festival of India and amongst people for who are extremely passionate about motorcycles and anything even remotely related to it. After the overwhelming response at the Auto Expo, our motorcycles were widely appreciated at India Bike Week. Bike lovers from all across the country rode in to check out and express their interest in our products. With our entry in India, competition is finally stirring up as we have brought in products that package design, style, technology, innovation and affordability comprehensively in one. We are now present across 50 dealerships in India.”

The UM Renegade Commando is the flagship cruiser offering from the brand and is powered by a 279cc single-cylinder, water-cooled engine developing 25PS at 8,500 rpm and 21.8 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. The powerplant is mated to a six-speed transmission. The Renegade Sport S also shares the same engine as the Renegade Commando. Talking about suspension setup, the front wheel has telescopic suspension, while the rear wheel has dual shock absorbers. The motorcycle has a fuel tank of 18 litres with a kerb weight of 172 kg.
