The 2016 Skoda Superb recently underwent the European New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) and has managed to achieve a 5-star rating. The Euro NCAP awards ratings to cars after determining the amount of protection that a car can provide to its passengers in the event of a crash. This upcoming new car scored high across all categories such as - passenger protection for adults, child safety, safety assistance systems and pedestrian protection.

The 2016 Superb follows the company’s new design language which is seen on the Skoda Fabia. Upfront, it borrows key design themes from the Vision C concept which Skoda had revealed at Geneva earlier last year. This new car gets a prominent grille, angular headlights and short front overhangs all of which combine to give the car a sporty look.

The cabin of the 2016 Skoda Superb receives a panoramic glass roof, a new infotainment system, a tri-zone climate control, heated seats, a 12-speaker Canton audio system and an umbrella in each front door, along with a tablet holder on the rear seat. Safety features include the Adaptive Cruise Control, Emergency Assist, Traffic Jam Assist, Crew Protective Assist, Lane Assist and more.

The 2016 Skoda Superb is available in both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol engine options include the 1.4-litre, 1.8-litre and 2.0-litre TSI with output figures ranging from 123PS to 217PS. A 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre TDI oil burner with output figures ranging from 118PS to 188PS is also available. Transmission options include a six-speed manual or a DSG automatic.

The new Skoda Superb is expected to be launched in India by mid-2016.
