The Dark Horse is the same Indian Chief Classic currently on sale, but it’s got an all-black treatment, right from the warbonnet to the rear fender, and even the engine. The Dark Horse will be unveiled at Polaris India’s inauguration of its second showroom in Bangalore
2015 Indian Chief Dark Horse

Indian Motorcycles will launch the Indian Chief Dark Horse on May 7 at the inauguration of the showroom in Bangalore.

The Dark Horse is built on the same successful platform as the Indian Chief range and will share the Thunder Stroke 111 V-Twin engine of the Chief and Chieftain range as well.

Unlike other Indian Motorcycles, characterized by high quality glossy paint and abundant chrome, the Dark Horse gets a matte black treatment and chrome is limited only to small bits and the twin exhausts.

Even the engine gets a blacked-out treatment and as does the wheels, which have been swapped out with black tyres from the traditional whitewalls and have also been replaced with cast wheels.

Monochrome warbonnet graphics

The fuel tank features distinctive monochrome warbonnet graphics, made especially for the Dark Horse. The valenced fenders, standard since 1940 on Indian motorcycles, also get the matte black treatment, as does the distinctive lighted warbonnet sitting atop the front fender.

Powering the Indian Chief Dark Horse is the powerful Thunder Stroke 111 V-Twin engine, making a whopping 138.9Nm of torque at 2600rpm that powers the entire Chief range of motorcycles. The Dark Horse will be the least expensive motorcycle in the Chief range, starting from around Rs 22 lakh.
