The newly debuted Indian Scout Rogue is a sportier take on the Scout Bobber Twenty

Indian Motorcycle has taken the wraps off its latest offering, the Scout Rogue, worldwide. The sporty cruiser is available in an ABS variant and a non-ABS variant, priced at $11,499 (Rs 8.59 lakh) and $12,399 (Rs 9.27 lakh), respectively.

Overall, the Scout Rogue looks a bit similar to the current Indian Bobber Twenty, but certain features distinguish it from the latter. The Rogue’s fuel tank and fender design are identical to the Bobber, but the LED headlight gets a quarter fairing, giving it a sporty look. It neatly complements the mini ape-hanger handlebar and the raised sporty single seat.

Powering this cruiser is the same liquid-cooled 1,133cc V-twin engine as the Scout Bobber Twenty. Paired with a six-speed transmission, it produces 100PS and 97Nm. There are no fancy electronics here apart from the dual-channel ABS.

The Rogue has a blacked-out theme, so the powertrain and the exhaust get a blacked-out finish. With a 12.5-litre fuel tank, the Scout Rogue weighs nearly 247kg (kerb), and it gets a ground clearance of only 129mm. Thankfully, the 649mm seat height is accessible by shorter riders.

The Rogue is suspended on a 41mm front telescopic fork (with 120mm of travel) and rear dual adjustable shocks (51mm travel). In addition, the bike gets optional adjustable Piggyback rear shocks, which allow the rider to alter the compression and rebound damping settings.

Another significant difference from the Scout Bobber Twenty is that the Rogue gets a larger 19-inch blacked-out front wheel and a 16-inch rear (compared to the Bobber's 16-inch front wheel). The Scout Rogue gets Metzeler Cruisetec 130/60B front and 150/80R rear tyres.

Braking is via 298mm discs at both ends, with a front two-piston calliper and a rear single-piston calliper.

The bike is available in three shades of dark: Black Smoke Midnight, Sagebrush Smoke, and Stealth Gray. Expect Indian to launch the Rogue in a month or two, presumably at around Rs 13.5 lakh (ex-showroom). It will go up against the Triumph Bonneville Bobber and the Harley-Davidson Street Bob.
