Jaguar Land Rover records staggering 45 per cent growth in previous quarter

On the back of good demand for its recently launched models like the all-new Jaguar XE and the Discovery, Jaguar Land Rover India has announced a strong growth of 45 per cent for the January 2016–March 2016 quarter.

A press release, on Wednesday, further informed that the British carmaker has crossed sales of 1,000 units during the same period as well.

JLR India Ltd president Rohit Suri believes that the Jaguar and Land Rover brands are now firmly established in India. “The All-New Jaguar XE, which we introduced in the Indian market in February 2016 in petrol derivatives, has received a tremendous response,” he said.

“Also, the demand for Model Year 2016 Jaguar XJ, Range Rover Evoque and Discovery Sport continues to be extremely robust. We thank our esteemed customers for choosing Jaguar Land Rover and making this strong growth possible,” he added.

The Jaguar range in India includes F-TYPE (starting at Rs 1.25 cr in CBU form), locally manufactured XF (starting at Rs 47.7 lakh), locally manufactured XJ (starting at Rs 99.99 lakh) and the locally manufactured all-new XE (starting at Rs 39.90 lakh).

The Land Rover range in India includes the flagship Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Discovery 4, New Discovery Sport and the 2016 New Range Rover Evoque.

All prices ex-showroom Mumbai.
