This is a self maintenance tip that goes a long way in keeping your vehicle fit and fine.

With the engine cool, check your engine oil for viscosity (stickiness), make sure the coolant level is right, make sure the brake oil and power steering fluid are at their optimal level. Since you have the hood open, you might as well take a look at the hoses and pipes to check for cracks or wear and as far as tyres go, check their tyre pressure and ensure that you are running at the company specified pressure. These checks should be carried out at least once a week.
