As part of the 2015 update, the KTM 390 Duke will be equipped with slipper clutch as a standard offering which should hike the price of the bike by around Rs 10 to 12,000
KTM 390 Duke

The KTM 390 Duke has brought about a revolution in the Indian two-wheeler space. The KTM 390 Duke is a great example that performance motorcycle doesn’t really have to cost a fortune to own. Apart from offering bang to the buck in terms of performance, the 390 Duke was also loaded with respect to features. The bike was equipped with switchable ABS, USD forks and Metzeler tyres to name a few. One of the features that was found missing on the KTM 390 Duke was slipper clutch. KTM seems to have paid heed to the demand of the consumers as part of the 2015 update; the KTM 390 Duke will be launched with slipper clutch as a standard offering. Currently the Kawasaki Ninja 300 is the only motorcycle in the relevant segment to offer slipper clutch as a standard feature. The slipper clutch equipped KTM 390 Duke hasn’t been officially launched yet but it is expected to be available on sale soon.

The slipper clutch would hike the price of the motorcycle and it is speculated that the KTM 390 Duke with slipper clutch would be around Rs 10 to 12,000 more expensive than the standard offering.  The advantage of slipper clutch is that it avoids the rear-wheel from hopping or sliding sideways uncontrollably during heavy engine braking thereby increasing the safety of the rider. Since the KTM 390 Duke will be equipped with slipper clutch it is obvious that the KTM RC 390 would also be updated with it in the near future.
