  • KTM has debuted its track-only limited-edition motorcycle, christened the RC 8C. This drool-worthy motorcycle will be available in just 100 units worldwide. Let’s see what the KTM RC 8C is all about.

Even the uninitiated will recognise the KTM RC 8C as a hardcore racing motorcycle. Its design speaks volumes with all the aero winglets, front ram-air intake, carbon fibre components, and compact dimensions. KTM claims the bike weighs just 140kg. For reference, the KTM RC 125 tips the scales at 139kg dry.

The 889cc LC8c DOHC 8 valve parallel-twin motor, borrowed from the 890 Duke R, dishes out 129PS. It’s nestled in the custom steel tubular chassis. All of this is neatly placed between the carbon Kevlar-reinforced GRP bodywork.

The KTM RC 8C uses a 5-inch TFT display. Making sure all your track time and data is stored for assessment, the bike gets an AIM MXS 1.2 RACE dashboard as well as a data logger with an integrated GPS function.

Owing to its purpose, the KTM RC 8C is sprung on a 43mm WP Apex Pro 7543 closed cartridge fork and a WP Apex Pro 7746 shock with preload adjustability at the rear.

Complementing the overall set of premium components is the braking hardware. The bike features dual 290mm front discs with Brembo Stylema calipers and a hub-mounted 230mm rear disc. Not just that, you also get a Brembo 19RCS Corsa Corta radial master cylinder, which allows riders to tailor the bite point depending on their needs.

Leaving no stone unturned, KTM has equipped the RC 8C with a quick-release fuel tank and lightweight Dymag wheels wrapped in Pirelli SC1 race slicks.

Besides, a total of 25 customers can also opt for the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing test team experience to ride and learn from the likes of Dani Pedrosa and Mika Kallio. Not just that, these 25 buyers will also receive the KTM RC 8C race track package which includes an extra pair of Dymag wheels, a pair of front and rear brake discs, front and rear paddock stands, tyre warmers, and a KTM Race carpet.

Pre-bookings start tomorrow but the price is yet to be announced. While there’s no doubt it would find takers in India, KTM is unlikely to offer it here considering it hasn’t even brought its big bikes, apart from the BS4 Duke 790, let alone limited editions.
