Automobili Lamborghini has launched the Huracan Evo Spyder, the cabriolet (convertible) version of the stunning Huracan Evo, in India. If you were ever driving your Lamborghini down a winding road and missed the feeling of wind in your hair, this one's for you. The Huracan Evo Spyder is priced at Rs 4.10 crore before options, making it Rs 37 lakhs more expensive than the standard Evo which is priced at Rs 3.73 crore (ex-showroom).
The main talking point for the Huracan Evo Spyder is the soft-top roof that can retract in 17 seconds and can be operated at speeds of upto 45kmph. With the open-top, it does look stunning, something akin to a grand tourer. A character line runs through the profile and gets sharper as it moves back while the 20-inch wheels and green callipers add flavour. Meanwhile, the front end remains largely unchanged with the aggressive air dams and angry looking headlamps. And the dual exhausts and sleek LED tail lamps are carried over as well.
Powering the Huracan Evo Spyder is a 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 engine that develops 640PS of power and 600Nm of torque which is 30PS and 40Nm more than the outgoing model. The engine sits on the rear axle and sends power to all four wheels via a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. This results in the Huracan Evo Spyder doing the 0-100kmph run in 3.1 seconds while 200kmph in covered in 9.3 seconds. Keep the throttle pinned and Lambo claims a top speed of 325kmph. Oomph!. Not only is it quick off the line, but also sheds speed quickly with a 100-0kmph stopping distance of only 31.9 metres.

To further enhance your driving experience, the Huracan Evo Spyder comes with driving modes that alter various parameters. It is called the Lamborghini Integrated Vehicle Dynamics (LDVI) and comes with three preset modes: Sport, Corsa and Strada. Apart from that, you also get all-wheel steering for quicker maneuvers through the corners.
Inside, the Huracan Evo Spyder’s interior, split into two by a huge central tunnel, can give an aircraft’s cockpit a run for its money. An 8.4-inch touchscreen handles the climate control and infotainment duties while aircraft-style toggle switches handle all the important controls. A digital instrument display tops the list.
Primary rivals include the Ferrari 488 and the McLaren 720S. The launch took place at the newly-inaugurated Lamborghini India showroom at Prabhadevi, Mumbai.
