Update 16/3/17: Honda WR-V Launched At Rs 7.75 Lakh
Honda's second launch for 2017 will be the WR-V. Bookings for the cross-hatch have already opened across Honda dealerships in the country. Let's run through the basics -
What is it?
A crossover based on the Jazz. But, this isn't a simple cladding job. The front has been entirely reworked, and now sports a more upright stance. The ground clearance has gone up to 188mm, and the wheelbase is up by 25mm as well. Honda has thrown in a few additional features as well, that include LED daytime running lamps, a sunroof, and 16-inch alloys. Top-spec diesel versions also get a start-stop button and cruise control.

What's it going to compete against?
The WRV's recipe puts it squarely against the premium hatchbacks, the sub 4-metre SUVs as well as its cladded-counterparts. Check these stories out:

Mechanicals?
The WR-V gets the same 90PS 1.2-litre petrol engine and the 100PS 1.5-litre diesel as the Jazz. Both engines are available with a 5-speed manual transmission only, and (sadly) there isn't a petrol-CVT on offer. ARAI-certified fuel efficiency stands at 17.5kmpl and 25.5kmpl for the petrol and diesel versions respectively.

We expect the Honda WR-V to be priced in the Rs 7 lakh to Rs 10 lakh bracket, ex-showroom. The countdown begins.
