LF-Z Electrified concept is powered by a 90kWh battery pack, with a WLTP range of 600km.
The Direct4 AWD setup consists of motors that produce a combined 536PS and 700Nm.
Lexus plans on introducing two new models before the end of this year.
Lexus has fully revealed the concept EV it teased a week ago, along with its plans to fully embrace electrification. The luxury carmaker has kicked off its carbon-neutral plans with the LF-Z Electrified concept car, a fully electric vehicle with looks that can kill.
The concept’s most appealing element is its front fascia. The traditional grille is replaced by a solid silver block thanks to the lack of a combustion engine. Being a concept, it sports futuristic looks and even comes with plush door handles that only pop out when needed.
Inside, the concept gets four seats in what is a very minimalistic cabin. The cockpit is dubbed ‘tazuna’, Japanese for bridle. The roof itself is a single glass pane, which we’re guessing could be electrochromic (can switch between opaque and transparent).
It is fitted with a 90kWh battery pack that offers a WLTP-claimed range of 600km and supports 150kW charging. The Direct4 setup for distributing power to all four wheels helps the LF-Z Electrified produce 536PS and 700Nm. And it can go from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3 seconds.
With the concept, Lexus has also revealed its plans for the future, including the imminent electrification of its lineup. The Japanese luxury carmaker plans to have at least 20 new models by 2025, with over 10 of them consisting of EVs, PHEVs (plug-in hybrid electric vehicles), and HEVs (hybrid electric vehicles). The carmaker has also announced that it will launch two new models this year.
