If there’s one thing MV Agusta is known for, it is making beautiful motorcycles. Don’t believe us? Just look at its new limited-edition offering, the Brutale 800 RR America. And yes, we’re getting it in India, however, only 5 of 200 units overall will be made available to us. Each will bear a price tag of Rs 18.73 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), which surprisingly is Rs 28,000 lesser than the standard model. This is due to the fluctuating dollar rate, which was high when the standard models were imported to India.
As you can guess, the motorcycle gets red, white and blue livery - paying homage to America’s national flag. Additionally, each model will come with a star-studded logo on the fuel tank and a specific production number. Along with it, owners will also get a certificate of authenticity with every bike. Apart from the distinctive visual changes, the motorcycle remains exactly the same underneath.
Powering the motorcycle is the same 798cc inline three-cylinder engine, which churns out 142PS of power at 12,300rpm and 87Nm of torque at 10,100rpm. To put things into perspective, this is significantly more than what the Triumph Street Triple RS (123PS/77Nm), Yamaha MT-09 (115PS/87.5Nm) and the Ducati Monster 821 (111.5PS/86NM) make. Did we mention it only weighs 175kg (dry)?
Its steel trellis frame comes suspended upon rebound adjustable Marzocchi USDs at the front and a Sachs monoshock unit at the back. Braking duties are handled by Brembo 320mm double floating discs at the front and a single 220mm disc at the back. The electronic package consists of MV EAS 2.0 (Electronically assisted Shift up & down) and Rear Lift Mitigation system (RLM) that keeps the rear wheel grounded while braking hard.
As mentioned earlier, only five units of the Brutale 800 RR America will be made available to us. Considering it’s priced lower than the standard model, we do think a lot of collectors would want to get their hands on it.
