The cabins look futuristic with a white-theme, ambient lights and sunroofs (glass roof in BE 6e).
Both the electric SUVs exterior sports a futuristic design with sloping roofline and sleek LED lighting elements.
They are expected to get multiple battery packs and will be based on the new INGLO platform.
The two EVs will be globally unveiled on November 26, 2024 and are expected to launch in 2025.
After announcing their names, Mahindra has now teased the interior of the BE 6e and XEV 9e, its two upcoming EVs. The latest teaser gives us a quick glimpse, primarily of the interior, showcasing a futuristic, cockpit-like cabin equipped with modern amenities and a premium feel considering how it looks.
If you’re a Mahindra SUV and EV enthusiast together, wait a little longer, as these two EVs are expected to hit the market in 2025. But before that, let us give you a rundown of all the details we discovered from the latest teaser:
While Mahindra used the previous teaser as part of the name announcement giving glimpses of the silhouette, this time it has focussed more on giving an idea about the interior of the two upcoming electric cars. Here are the 5 things we could spot from it:
From what we saw, the steering wheel is unique to both EVs. The BE 6e features a sportier, two-spoke octagonal steering, with an illuminated BE logo in the centre, while the XEV 9e has a more conventional round one. The steering in both include toggle switches for ADAS and other controls.
The center console in the XEV 9e looks clean and minimalistic, with touch controls below the sleek AC vents, whereas the BE 6e has the controls stacked in front of the armrest, just behind the gear lever, along with a multifunctional knob.
The BE 6e features a dual-screen setup with large, similarly sized dual displays (one for the infotainment system and the other for instrumentation).
The XEV 9e, on the other hand, includes a triple-screen setup, extending a dedicated screen for the front passenger as well. Both the infotainment units are likely to support wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The two new Mahindra EVs are also expected to feature multi-colour ambient lighting. In the teaser, the BE 6e is seen to have the ambient lights along the door panels as well as a light strip also running across the center console, extending to the armrest.
The teaser reveals that both EVs come with large panoramic glass roofs. The XEV 9e will likely feature an electrically operated panoramic sunroof that opens, while the BE 6e will have a fixed glass unit.
The BE 6e and XEV 9e are likely to include white leatherette upholstery, following the design theme of the family’s XUV700 and Thar Roxx off-roader ICE SUVs. This choice in both the EVs lends an elegant and premium look to the interior and is similar to each other.

Both the BE 6e and XEV 9e will feature a coupe-like design with sporty, modern styling elements. Expect sleek flush door handles, connected headlights, and aerodynamic alloy wheels on both models. The BE 6e will sport a bold, sharper LED tail light design, while the XEV 9e will have a more curved look with connected LED tail lights.
Expected features in both the EVs include powered front seats with ventilation, wireless phone charger, and a premium audio system. Safety essentials on board could include multiple airbags, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors and level-2 ADAS borrowed from other Mahindra offerings like the XUV700 and Thar Roxx.
While exact powertrain details are still under wraps, it’s anticipated that both SUVs will come with multiple battery pack options. Built on Mahindra's new INGLO platform, they are expected to offer both single and dual-motor configurations, delivering up to 395 PS of power. The platform is designed to support 60 kWh and 80 kWh battery packs, with a maximum WLTP-claimed range of 450 km.
The Mahindra BE 6e is expected to be priced between Rs 20 lakh and Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom), while the larger XEV 9e will likely start around Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom). The BE 6e will compete with compact electric offerings like the Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV and the upcoming Maruti eVX and Hyundai Creta EV. Meanwhile, the XEV 9e is set to go head-to-head with the upcoming Tata Harrier EV.
