Mahindra and Mahindra today launched its new Big Bolero Pik-up, a medium duty pick-up truck. Priced at Rs 6.30 lakh ex-showroom in Pune, the Bolero Pik-up boasts several class leading features, says Mahindra. One of the major highlights of the pick-up according to the manufacturer is its 2765mm (9 feet) long cargo body, which is the biggest in class and should enable loading extra long or additional goods as well without having to keep the rear deck open. Interestingly, the Bolero Pik-up will be on offer in two variants, one with a payload capacity of 1250kg and the other with a higher capacity of 1500kg. Apart from the pick-up variant, the Big Bolero Pik-up will also be offered with a CBC (Cowl Body Chassis) which will allow buyers to customise it according to their needs, and use the Big Bolero as a water tanker, refrigerated pick-up, generator van, poultry van and the like.
Powering the pick-up is Mahindra’s MDI turbocharged engine that will be available either as BS3 or BS4 compliant. Power output for the BS3 variant is 63.8PS, while in the BS4 trim the engine offers a higher 70.9PS of power. Peak torque produced in both trims is the same at 195Nm, which is produced between 1500 and 1800rpm. Mahindra also states that the new Bolero Pik-up boasts a more comfortable cabin designed for better ergonomics with sliding and reclining seats, while power steering will be offered as standard across the range. In keeping with the changes under the hood and inside, the exteriors of the Bolero Pik-up have been revised as well, to give it a more contemporary appearance. Mahindra is offering a 3-year, unlimited mileage warranty on the BS3 variant of the Bolero Pik-up, and a 1-year unlimited mileage warranty on the BS4 variant.
