The forename for Mahindra’s new 8-seater is not an unfamiliar term in the Indian people’s mover segment. While the 0.8 ton pick up from Mahindra became the first ever real competition for Tata’s popular 1 ton pick up van (Tata Ace), the need for spacious and reliable passenger carriers remained a demand wholly satisfied by a fleet of Tata vehicles, whose current line-up includes the high-end Tata Winger Platinum, the Tata Venture and small, but modest Tata Magic Iris.
Using its superior Maxximo platform, Mahindra is now looking at opening up competition in the people’s mover category with the launch of its first C2 CRDe diesel technology powered Maxximo Mini Van.
The stylish and spacious 8-seater offers all the necessary comforts expected from a vehicle of its nature, which include its ergonomically designed and well-cushioned seats and the Maxximo Independent Front Suspension system, that raises the overall comfort levels of the Mini Van when on the move.
With an adequate pulling power of 25 HP and a top speed of more than 70 Kmph, the Mini Van manages to maintain a fuel economy of 18 Kmpl, implying an ideal balance of power and economy for the customer.
Speaking at the launch of the new Maxximo Mini Van, Dr. Pawan Goenka, President, Automotive & Farm Equipment Sectors, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., said, “A product from Mahindra’s state-of-the-art Chakan plant, the Maxximo Mini Van is the perfect embodiment of Mahindra’s philosophy of “Rise”.
On the technology front, some of the salient features of this stylish new Mini Van from the house of Mahindra include a robust monocoque chassis, constructed with bigger box-sections for greater rigidity, and safety features like booster-assisted Twin LSPV brakes.
Available in two attractive colour options, Diamond White and Appy Red the new Mahindra Maxximo Mini Van is competitively priced at Rs. 3.2 lac (Ex-Showroom BS3, Navi Mumbai).
