Mahindra has confirmed that the Marazzo AMT is on course, and the MPV should be launched soon. This news comes after multiple reports alleging the MPV could be discontinued in the future following dismal sales.
Commenting on the latest development, a Mahindra spokesperson said, “The Marazzo is an integral part of our product portfolio. We keep upgrading our products from time to time and one can soon expect the Marazzo to be launched with an AutoShift transmission.”
The Marazzo will utilise the same 6-speed AMT as the XUV300. It will be offered with the existing 1.5-litre diesel engine that develops 122PS (100PS in ‘Eco’ mode) and 300Nm. Currently, a 6-speed manual is the only transmission with this engine. The 163PS 1.5-litre mStallion turbo-petrol engine will likely be offered later.

Currently, the Marazzo is available in three variants: M2, M4+, and M6+. All three will get the optional AMT. The new transmission aside, there will be no other change to the MPV. Read our detailed first drive review to know what we think of the Marazzo.
The AMT variants will likely sell at a premium of Rs 70,000 over their MT counterparts, which retail from Rs 12.04 lakh (ex-showroom) as on the day of writing. While it doesn’t have any direct rival, the Marazzo does compete with the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Toyota Innova Crysta.
