The carmaker could also introduce the 1.5-litre mStallion turbo-petrol engine alongside the automatic gearbox option

  • It is currently offered in a sole 121PS/300Nm 1.5-litre diesel engine, paired exclusively with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

  • The automatic gearbox could be a 6-speed AMT unit for the 1.5-litre diesel engine.

  • Also expect manual and automatic transmission options for the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine.

  • It is currently priced from Rs 11.25 lakh to Rs 13.59 lakh (ex-showroom).

  • Expect the petrol-powered Marazzo to be a worthy rival to the Maruti Ertiga/XL6 since its pricing could be around that ballpark.

Back in August 2020, when Mahindra unveiled BS6 prices for the Marazzo, it hinted that the automatic variants of the MPV would be introduced at a later date. Now it seems that date isn’t far off.

A test mule was recently spotted, bearing an ‘AutoShift’ badge on the lower left corner of the rear end. This badge is also present in the XUV300 AMT variants, indicating the automatic transmission for the Marazzo could be a six-speed AMT for the 1.5-litre diesel engine. Currently, the Marazzo is offered with a 1.5-litre diesel engine that makes 121PS of power (100PS in Eco) and 300Nm of torque. It is paired exclusively to a 6-speed manual transmission.

We also expect a new 1.5-litre mStallion petrol engine that develops around 160PS to be introduced. This petrol engine could also be paired with manual and automatic gearbox options.

Mahindra currently retails the Marazzo MPV from Rs 11.25 lakh to Rs 13.59 lakh (ex-showroom). It is offered in three variant trims: M2, M4+, and M6+, in 7- and 8-seater configurations. The introduction of the petrol-powered variants will lower the price range of the MPV. That said, expect a noticeable price difference between the manual and automatic variants for both petrol and diesel options. It currently doesn’t have any rivals, but the petrol variants could make it a worthy competitor to the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga/XL6.
