Mahindra recently launched its most premium MPV yet, the Marazzo at a starting price of Rs 9.99 lakh ex-showroom India. The MPV is available in four variants and comes with a diesel engine only, for now. The main USP of the Marazzo is its cabin space which feels upmarket and premium. But for the ones who are invariably left wanting more, Mahindra will soon be offering a Marazzo with the interiors redone by DC.
We got a close look at just what might be in store as part of the interior package on the sidelines of the launch.
For starters, the rear captain seats will be replaced with electrically adjustable, reclining seats that also get their own footrest that extends from under the seat, not unlike the uber-luxurious Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
Rear occupants get foldable headrests shaped like a neck pillow.
The rear seats also get their own entertainment in the form of Android TV fixed to the rear of the front seats.
All of it can be operated from a touchpad console placed between the two captain seats.
Other features include a foldable table, smartphone housing for Android TV and a 7-litre capacity fridge along with a 12V charging socket as well.
In terms of ambience, the DC cabin makes use of faux leather on the seats and a dual tone scheme with faux wood inserts in the door along with black piano finish inserts. Even the front passenger seat is electrically adjustable although, surprisingly, the buttons are placed next to gear lever instead of on the door side. This makes the buttons a little hard to reach.
Also, with the luxurious layout, the access to the third row is difficult, to say the least, and quite less comfortable than the standard car. The exact pricing of the upgrade is yet unknown but if we were to estimate, we can expect Mahindra to charge between Rs 3.5 lakh-Rs 5.0 lakh over the M8 (Rs 13.90 lakh, ex-showroom) for the upgrade.
