Mahindra MPV

The Mahindra MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) was spotted testing a few months ago in India, but is reportedly being developed by Mahindra’s Troy technical center in Michigan, USA. The car is expected to launch in India somewhere around next year and is likely to have the Innova Crysta as its primary rival.

As the car was heavily camouflaged, we could not get a clear picture of the car, but certain features of the MPV could be seen such as the swept-back projector headlamps and Mahindra’s signature grille which can also be seen on the current Scorpio, the tail lamps looks similar to that of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. Overall, the car's size appears to be similar to the Innova Crysta. The interiors of the MPV haven't been disclosed, but from the outside it is clear that there will be ample room for passengers along with comfort.

Mahindra MPV

Mahindra, just like other manufacturers, has seen the runaway success of the recently-launched Toyota Innova Crysta. Tata is also coming up with a new crossover - the Hexa, which will also compete with the Innova. So, like the Hexa and the Crysta, the MPV is likely to be based on a ladder frame platform which is probably the new modular ladder-frame chassis which made it debut with the second generation Scorpio.

The engine details have not yet been revealed, but we believe that the MPV is expected to get a 2.2-litre diesel mill. Considering Mahindra has lined-up its petrol engines for its upcoming cars, we do not have any confirmation of which petrol unit will be used by mahindra for the upcoming MPV.
