Mahindra TUV300 Gets A New Variant

Mahindra calls the TUV300 a “battle-tank inspired SUV”, which is also evident from its bold design and chunky body panels. The sub-4 meter compact SUV has been designed and developed Mahindra’s MRV facility in Chennai, and will be rolled out tomorrow from Mahindra’s Chakan plant, on the outskirts of Pune. Earlier, the company had stated that Italian design firm Pininfarina was also involved for designing the new Mahindra TUV300.
Though the Mahindra TUV300 is rumoured to be based on the Mahindra Bolero platform, the company claims it to be built from scratch – details of which are expected to be revealed tomorrow.
The interior will be given a completely fresh treatment with touch screen infotainment system and a new multifunctional steering wheel. To offer maximum bang for the money, Mahindra will also offer up to three rows of seating. Higher variants will run on 17-inch Ceat Czar all-terrain wheels, while 16-inch wheels would be standard fitment.
Reportedly, the Mahindra TUV300 will come equipped with a new 1.5-litre mHawk turbo diesel engine would could produce close to 80PS. Power will be transferred to the front wheels via a manual gearbox. The engine capacity and sub-4 metre size will give the Mahindra excise benefits, helping it to be priced aggressively. starting around Rs 5.5 lakh.
