The Cheetah-inspired Mahindra XUV 500, which was given a major facelift earlier this year, is all set for another exciting announcement with an automatic transmission variant expected to be unveiled on Wednesday.

Sources say that the gearbox of the new car will be an all new unit. Under the hood, the New Age Mahindra XUV 500 currently comes with an M-hawk engine that displaces 2.2-litre. It was tweaked for better fuel efficiency than its predecessor while it generated 142PS of power at 3,750rpm and 330Nm torque from 1,600-2,800rpm.

The W10 variant of the New Age Mahindra XUV500 comes loaded with features including an electric sunroof, keyless entry and push button start. A new 7-inch touch screen with 3D navigation and Mahindra's Blue Sense app sits pretty on the dashboard while other features include a rear camera with dynamic assist and 6-way electrically adjustable driver's seat.

The XUV500 is currently available in the form of both front-wheel drive and and four-wheel variants and as many as seven different colours to choose from. The FWD begins at Rs 11.46 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and goes up to Rs 15.36 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) while the two AWD variants are priced at Rs 15.29 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and Rs 16.36 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). We have already driven the automatic XUV 500. Come back tomorrow for the review report.
