Mahindra launches XUV 5OO Xclusive Edition

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M), India’s leading SUV manufacturer has reported to have sold over 1 lakh units of its popular SUV Mahindra XUV500 in less than 3 years of its launch in India. Launched in September 2011, the XUV500 was designed entirely in-house at Mahindra’s research and development facility, Mahindra Research Valley (MRV) in Chennai, and has been well received in the country.
Speaking on the XUV500 milestone, Pravin Shah, Chief Executive, Automotive Division & International Operations (AFS), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said, “This is a proud moment for us, as our first global SUV, the XUV500 has reached a significant milestone of 1 lakh sales in just 35 months of its launch. We would like to thank our customers for their support that has enabled the brand to grow from strength to strength.”
Mahindra XUV500 has come under pressure from international compact-SUVs such as the Renault Duster, Ford Ecosport and the Nissan Terrano in India. To cope up with the rising competition the company recently introduced a special limited edition Mahindra XUV500 Sportz with stylish body decals and improved features at Rs 13.68 lakh (ex-showroom Pune).
