It’s confirmed! Mahindra will take the wraps off the XUV700 on August 14, 2021, a day ahead of Independence day. The upcoming three-row SUV, a spiritual successor to the XUV500, will lock horns with the Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar, and MG Hector Plus

To ensure that the XUV700 stands out from the competition, Mahindra will load it with plenty of premium features. Inside, the highlight is the Mercedes-esque twin 10.25-inch displays that will run on Mahindra’s AdrenoX UI and get India-first Alexa connectivity. Audiophiles, the XUV700 will come with a branded Sony 3D sound system with roof mounted speakers, but we will give our verdict about its sound quality in our detailed first drive review.

Outside, the SUV gets LED headlamps with high-beam assist and funky C-shaped DRLs. A hint of Tesla can be seen in the flush fitting door handles. And last but not least, the XUV700 will be the first SUV from the Mahindra stable to feature its new ‘Twin Peaks’ logo. And going by spy shots and teasers, we know that the SUV will be offered in red and blue colours.

Other notable features include a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, auto headlamps and wipers, powered driver’s seat, and keyless entry with push button start. Passenger safety should be taken care of by multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors with a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, driver fatigue warning, and possibly MG Gloster-like autonomous driving tech.
