Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E will be launched in India on November 12.
It makes use of a plug-in hybrid power unit by dropping the 4-litre twin turbo V8 engine.
Gets a 2-litre turbo petrol engine that is capable of contributing 476 PS to the maximum combined output of 680 PS.
Hybrid system with 6.1 kWh battery offers 13 km of all-electric range.
It will likely be priced around Rs 1.5 crore (ex-showroom).
Mercedes-Benz has officially announced the launch of the AMG C 63 S E Performance on our shores, scheduled for November 12. The fourteenth and possibly the final launch from the German marque this year, brings packed electrifying performance under its long sleek hood. The new C 63 S E swaps the previous 4-litre V8 twin-turbo engine for a 2-litre turbo petrol engine, yet still manages a remarkable combined output of 680 PS. Here are all its details:
In terms of design, the C 63 S E exudes an aggressive, sporty look. It features a Panamericana front grille as AMGs usually do, besides boldly styled front air dams, and sleek LED headlights in the fascia. Look at the silhouette and you’ll notice the 20-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels wrapped around in low profile tyres, and dual exhaust tips at the rear.
All these aggressive changes means you’ll have to be a proper noob to mistake it for a standard C-Class sedan.
Inside, the dashboard follows a similar C-class layout but it does get AMG-spec interiors with sport seats, and an AMG steering wheel. Features include a panoramic sunroof, centrally mounted touch screen powered by MBUX with wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a head-up display and a Burmester audio system.

While the previous C 63 had a V8 twin-turbo engine, the latest iteration will come a 2-litre 4-cylinder engine equipped with an electric exhaust gas turbocharger, delivering 476 PS to all wheels. It is the same engine found in the A45 S hot hatchback.
But unlike the hatchback, this combines with a 204 PS electric motor on the rear axle, which takes the total output up to 680 PS alongside a 1020 Nm torque output, making it the most powerful production four-cylinder engine in the world. The engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic gearbox, enabling the car to accelerate from nought to 100 kmph in mere 3.4 seconds.
The hybrid setup adds more than just power. The new C 63 S can also be driven in pure electric mode with a range of 13 km, thanks to its 6.1 kWh battery pack, which can be recharged with a wallbox charger.
The AMG C 63 S E will sit above the C 43 in Mercedes’ lineup, with the latter priced at Rs 98.25 lakh (ex-showroom). We expect the C 63 S E to start at just under the Rs 1.5 crore (ex-showroom) mark upon its launch on November 12, making it a formidable rival to the Audi RS 5 Sportback and BMW M4.
