Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire is the highest selling sedan, and in fact one of the highest selling cars in the country. With the numbers that the car has clocked, it is but natural that buyers looking for something exclusive usually overlook the Swift DZire.
Now, Maruti has come up with a limited edition of the DZire to appeal to such customers and has aptly named it the DZire Allure Edition. It gets cosmetic as well as feature updates both inside and outside in the form of added accessories, but remains mechanically unchanged. The Allure edition is available with all the variants of the sedan and in all the six colour options, but only for a limited time.
On the outside, the DZire Allure Edition comes with cosmetic updates to make it stand out from the crowd of fellow sedans. It wears 'Allure' body graphics, a window frame kit, rear lower lid garnish, and chrome bumper protectors on the outside. Inside, the car comes with faux wooden inserts on the centre console and door handles, dual-tone seat cover, dual-tone steering cover, beige carpet mats, and white ambient lighting. In terms of added equipment, the car gets side skirts, a front centre armrest, 'Allure' car pillows and door sill guards.
There is also a music kit which can be added to the Allure edition. It comes with an eight-inch, 400W subwoofer, a four-channel, 700W amplifier and 6.5-inch speakers. This music kit is an add-on to the Allure package and will be charged separately.
The Maruti DZire is available with a 84PS, 1.2-litre petrol and a 75PS, 1.3-litre diesel motor. Both of these engines come mated to a five-speed manual transmission but the petrol motor can also be had with a four-speed automatic, whereas the diesel motor can be had with an AGS automatic gearbox. The most lucrative factor of the DZire has been its fuel economy. The petrol powered sedan returns 20.85/18.5kmpl with manual/automatic transmission and the diesel returns 26.59kmpl with both the transmission options, which is the highest in the segment.
The Allure edition tries to make the DZire feel a little more premium with the help of accessories. And to a certain extent, it does make the sedan look distinctive. All the added accessories come in the form of an accessory package, while the music kit is a separate package that can be opted for if the buyer DZires to. The Allure edition will cost about Rs 30,000 over the price of the variant that you opt for. Prices for the sedan start at Rs 6.15 lakh and go up to Rs 7.06 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Also, the all-new 2017 Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire has been spotted testing in the country and will be launched in a few months, after a possible showcase at the Geneva International Motor Show in March this year.
