The Maruti S-Cross might be a new car for India, but the same is not valid for the European countries. The car was introduced there in 2013 and has now received its mid-life facelift in the same market. The car was spied a few days ago in Europe and has now been revealed in a TV commercial released by Suzuki. It is set to make it to the European market by this September, however, its India launch may take place somewhere in 2017.

Speaking of the upgrade, the S-Cross’ front fascia has been redone to make it look more muscular than the current car. The sides and the rear end of the car, though, remains intact and so do the alloy wheels.

The front gets a gap-ier and a squared-off chrome grille with vertical slats, flanked by a newly carved set of headlamps. One can also notice a more muscular bonnet and an all new front bumper. Though, strangely enough, the S-Cross facelift has a striking resemblance with the BMW X1. So much so, that you may even mistake it for an X1 at a first glance. The similarities could be noticed in all of the elements that are mentioned in this paragraph. Let me save you some KBs of your internet pack, look at the collage below.

The interiors too get some minors nips and tucks, such as a tweaked instrument cluster with a new MID screen and new upholstery. The crossover also gets an all-new 1.4-litre BoosterJet petrol motor along with the currently available 1.6-litre MultiJet diesel, in the European market. Both the engines will be available with front-wheel drive and the all-wheel-drive layout (Suzuki All-Grip). When introduced in India, it could retain the same set of motors, which are the 1.3-litre and 1.6-litre Multijet diesel.
