Maruti Suzuki India Pvt Ltd. has launched today the facelifted version of the popular Alto 800. The entry-level vehicle has been introduced with a starting price of Rs 2.49 lakh for the base variant that goes up to Rs 3.34 lakh for the top-spec model (ex-showroom, Delhi). Maruti Suzuki has carried out minor mechanical and cosmetic updates to the Alto 800.
In terms of design, the updated Alto 800 gets a new front fascia with an "Aero Edge Design." The bumper now has a wide hexagonal lower grille that is flanked by fog lamps which are absent in the current model. The headlights have a different cluster design with amber coloured lens for the side indicators.
Speaking on the facelifted Alto 800, R S Kalsi, Executive Director Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India said, “The new Alto 800 is technologically advanced with latest convenience and class-leading safety features. The new stylish looks, fresh classy interiors and addition of two new colours make it trendy and vibrant. Above all, it comes with improved mileage and assurance of Maruti Suzuki’s unmatched service network, guaranteed performance and lower maintenance cost. All these make Alto 800 a preferred choice of the value conscious customers across India.”
Inside, the facelifted Alto 800 gets new dark grey coloured interior with new designer seats and door trim fabric. Improvements have been made to the cushioning of the rear seat too, which now features integrated headrests.
As far as safety is concerned, the car features driver side airbag as an option even for the base variants and OVRM as standard fitment even for the passenger side. The higher spec models get rear door child lock for better safety. Feature-wise, along with the existing equipment, the new Alto 800 receives convenience features like remote keyless entry, map pocket for co-driver, and rear bottle holder.
The facelifted Alto 800 has been updated under the bonnet as well. The company has developed an improved engine architecture tuned for enhanced driving pleasure and excellent fuel economy. Maruti Suzuki claims the new Alto 800 will now return a mileage of 24.7kmpl which is about 9 per cent higher than its predecessor. It also has specially coated moving parts for less frictional losses and drive-by-wire technology.
The new facelift Alto 800 comes with two new additional colours namely- Mojito Green and Cerulean Blue.
