The Maruti Suzuki Celerio was first launched in India back in 2014 and has been among the best-selling Marutis since then. Later in 2015, a diesel-powered Celerio was launched, before being discounted a few months back.
Now, the Celerio is all set to receive a major update and recently a brochure of the new Celerio X was leaked from a personal twitter account of Hardik Garg. In the pictures, the Celerio X looks like a crossover version of the Celerio. It gets a new dual tone front and rear bumper with black plastic claddings on the doors, wheel arches and rear bumper. The rear also gets a silver coloured skid plate.
The leaked brochure also gives a sneak peek into the different variants likely to be offered. There are a total of four variants, namely VXi, VXi(o), ZXi and ZXi(o). Let’s take a look at the variants.
Celerio X VXi is the base variant and will be offered with both MT and AMT options. Other features on offer include:
· Driver side Airbag
· Manual AC
· Central locking
· Front disc brakes
· Engine immobilizer
· Front power windows with driver side auto down
· Power steering
· Accessory socket
VXi(o) variant is basically the VXi variant, but gets additional features like passenger side airbag, ABS and outside temperature display.
Celerio X ZXi is the top variant and will also be offered with both MT and AMT options. Over the VXi, it gets features such as:
· ORVM turn indicators
· Front door fabric trim
· Music System
· Keyless entry
· Steering mounted audio controls
· Tilt-adjustable steering
· Rear window wiper and washer
The ZXi (o) variant gets passenger side airbag, ABS, front fog lamps and alloy wheels, over the ZXi variant.
The Celerio X will be powered by the same 1.0-litre petrol engine producing 67.9PS of power at 6000rpm and 90Nm at 3500rpm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT gearbox.
There is no information on the prices and when the Celerio X will be launched in the market, but bookings for the same have already started.
