For a car that is still in the process of creating a self-identity, especially since being re-introduced in 2009, the current day Maruti Suzuki Estilo has managed to modestly contribute in keeping its manufacturers sales charts rising, and today has achieved a milestone sales figure of 200,000 units that according to the company will not stop at India.
To commemorate the milestone of 200,000 sales in India, Maruti Suzuki has introduced a limited edition “Estilo Vogue” in the Indian market. The limited edition Estilo has accessories labeled with “Vogue” branding on Seat cover, floor mat etc.
Explaining the popularity of the Maruti Suzuki Estilo in India, Mr. Shashank Srivastava, Chief General Manager, Marketing, says, “Maruti Suzuki Estilo has found a great appreciation among style conscious buyers in India. Estilo’s success in the domestic market is reflected in its high growth of more than 25% in last fiscal. ”
Apart from India, where four out of the top five bestsellers are from MSIL’s stable, the South East Asia markets like Indonesia & Malaysia have also shown appreciation for Maruti Suzuki offerings. Compact cars like the Estilo have emerged in the top five model tally in these markets.
On sale in India since December 2006, the Maruti Suzuki Estilo is the immediate descendent of India’s once most popular hatchback models, the Zen. Three years after being introduced, the Estilo was once again revamped both in the styling and engine department. It currently runs on MSIL’s KB10 series, 998cc, 3 cylinder petrol engine that also does duty on some of its other K series cousins giving it that extra edge in India’s constantly expanding hatchback portfolio.
