It must be mentioned that the Swift and WagonR’s 1.2-litre K12B petrol motor only gets the BS6 emission norms update. As of now, the Wagon R’s 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol motor hasn’t been updated to meet the BS6 emission norms. Power and torque figures in the 1.2-litre K12B petrol motor remain unchanged after the BS6 update and the motor churns out 83PS of power and 113m of torque. The fuel efficiency though has seen a slight dip and the BS6 Swift and Wagon R now returns 21.4 kmpl as compared to the BS4 version’s 22 kmpl.

The 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine in the Swift also hasn’t received any updates as the carmaker will axe all diesel models from its portfolio post April 1, 2020.

The Swift also gets safety updates to make it compliant with the upcoming safety and crash test norms. All variants of the Swift now get dual airbags, ABS with EBD, driver and co-driver seatbelt warning, high speed alert and rear parking sensors as standard. Previously, there was no co-driver seatbelt warning and the parking sensors were limited to the top-spec Z trims only.
