The Maruti Suzuki Swift Deca, a special edition of the Swift which the manufacturer had teased via a TV commercial, has now been launched at Rs 5.94 lakh. The car carries few aesthetic changes on the outside and is available with additional features on the inside as compared to the standard car.
On the outside, the Swift Deca flaunts:
· Number 10 markings on both the front doors
· Sports strips on the bonnet, boot, sides and roof
· Front, side and rear skirts, along with a rear spoiler
Up inside, the Deca features:
· A touchscreen infotainment system from Sony
· Bluetooth connectivity
· Door-mounted speakers
· Reverse parking camera with sensors
· Front arm central armrest
· Door sills
· Ambient lighting
· Floor mats
· New seats cover and steering cover
Other than these additional features the car remains unchanged mechanically. The Swift Deca is available with both petrol and diesel motor options. The car is available in two variants, one being the petrol VXi – priced at Rs 5.94 lakh – and the other being the diesel VDi – available at Rs 6.87 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi). The former is powered by the 1.2-litre VVT petrol that produces 84.3PS of power and 115Nm of torque, while the latter get the 1.3-litre DDiS diesel which puts out 75PS of power and 170Nm of torque.
It is known that Maruti is developing the next-gen Swift, which had been spied several times testing in the European countries. For this reason, we expect a few more special editions to boost the dropping sales of this popular hatchback in the country, till the all-new car arrives. Also, the Swift's and the Dzire's sales have been drastically affected after the launch of the Baleno, which provides better fuel efficiency, space, features and performance than the other two at a very competitive price.
