The BS6-compliant 1.0-litre unit develops 68PS of power and 90Nm of torque, same as the BS4 unit. However, the updated engine is a little less fuel efficient, returning 21.79 kmpl as opposed to the previous 22.5kmpl. Transmission options for this powertrain include a 5-speed manual and AMT.

The CNG version of the 1.0-litre engine develops 59PS of power and 68Nm of torque. It can be had with a 5-speed manual only. Maruti Suzuki hasn’t revealed the BS6-compliant CNG unit’s fuel efficiency yet. It is likely that this powertrain could find its way under the bonnet of the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso CNG which is undergoing testing.

The carmaker will most likely discontinue diesel engines post April 2020 due to the upcoming BS6 emission norms. However, a BS6 diesel Ertiga has been spotted on test, hinting that Maruti could bring back diesel engines.
