Maruti Suzuki has added a new range-topping variant to the WagonR model lineup. The VXi+ trim level will sit above the existing LXi and VXi trims and could potentially also replace the WagonR Stingray from the company's lineup, though the company has not confirmed it.
The Maruti Suzuki VXi+ is available in four variants - all powered by the same 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, K10B petrol motor, developing 68PS of maximum power at 6,200rpm and 90Nm of peak torque at 3,500rpm. The VXi+ and VXi+ (O) variants are offered with a 5-speed manual transmission, while the VXi+ AGS and VXi+ AGS (O) variants get a 5-speed AMT. The other WagonR variants also get AGS, check out the details here.
The WagonR VXi+ costs Rs 4.70 lakh, VXi+(O) - Rs 4.89 lakh, VXi+ AGS - Rs 5.17 lakh and VXi+ AGS (O) - Rs 5.36 lakh; all prices are ex-showroom Delhi.
On the outside, the WagonR VXi+ gets the same bodywork as the Stingray. This includes the slim dual-barrel headlamp units which contain a pair of projector lamps, clamshell bonnet, transparent plastic grille, large hexagonal air dam, front bumper extensions, side skirts, chrome garnished tail-lamps, gunmetal alloy wheels etc. The chrome garnish on the boot lid will now read WagonR instead of the Stingray. The WagonR VXi+ is available in 7 paint options.
The WagonR VXi+ gets the same interiors as the Stingray - with a dual tone interior theme, piano black trim, leather-wrapped steering wheel, chrome door handles etc. You can check out our review of the WagonR Stingray here.
Safety features like dual front airbags, ABS and EBD are only available on the VXi+ (O) and the VXi+ AGS (O) variants.
