Despite being camouflaged, the front-end looks aggressive with several air vents.
The rear features sleek tail lamps and dual exhaust tips.
Likely to borrow features from the Levante.
It could get internal combustion, hybrid, and all-electric powertrain options.
It will rival the Alfa Romeo Stelvio, Porsche Macan, and the BMW X3.
Back in September 2020, Maserati had officially announced the second SUV in its lineup, the Grecale, that would sit below the Levante. A long time has passed since then and now, Maserati has finally released the first set of images of the Grecale in prototype form.
While the prototype model is heavily camouflaged, the Grecale will sport a compact and athletic stance. Up front, the bumper certainly looks sporty with multiple vents. At the rear, you have a sleek pair of tail lamps with dual exhaust tips on either side.
The cabin is yet to be revealed, but we expect the Grecale to borrow some features from the Levante. It could get an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, heated steering wheel, a 17-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system, ventilated and heated front seats, rear sunblinds, and a reverse camera.

Maserati is yet to spill the beans on what’s under the hood of the Grecale, but Maserati had earlier confirmed that it will be offering all its latest models with internal combustion, hybrid, and all-electric powertrains. Also expect a spicier Trofeo variant at a later stage.
More details on the Maserati Grecale SUV are likely to surface before it's slated debut by the end of this year. It will be produced at the Cassino factory in Italy, the same unit where the Alfa Romeo Stelvio SUV and Giulia sedan are manufactured. It will rival the Alfa Romeo Stelvio, Porsche Macan, and the BMW X3.
