Mercedes-AMG cars land in India

Priced between Rs. 1.5 and 3.1 crore, these exotic beauties from Mercedes-AMG will become the most expensive car models in India to carry the three-pointed star logo. And it's rather surprising that the recent economic recession hasn't hit this super-luxury car market, which includes cars costing upwards of Rs. 1 crore. All the super-luxury exoticas that are in the Indian market today have met, and often exceeded, their target sales figures.? Customers are apparently demanding an even larger range of exotic luxury and high-performance cars.

As for the AMGs which have just landed in India, though Mercedes-Benz hasn't yet officially made any announcements as to which specific six models they brought in, sources have said that we would likely see the C63, E63, S63/65, CLS63, SLK55 and the SL63/65, all in AMG trim at the official launch in the next couple of days. Since all these beauties would be taking the CBU-road into the country, the delivery time for any of these models would range between 8 to 12 weeks. These AMG models after their official launch would be available on order only.

Aufrecht Melcher GroBaspach, or AMG for short, started life as a race engine manufacturer back in 1967 and in 1999, Mercedes-Benz acquired a controlling stake in this Stuttgart based tuning house. Since then, AMG has become the official performance division of Mercedes-Benz and has created many limited-edition, high-performance versions of the company's sedans, coupes and SUVs. Mercedes-AMG cars have also acted as the official Safety Cars in the Formula-One racing championship.
