Mercedes-Benz A-Class facelift launched in India

Keeping up with their promise to launch 15 cars in 2015, Mercedes-Benz India has launched the A-Class in India today. The new A-Class features a minor facelift on the exterior and interior front and is still available in both petrol and diesel variants. In the Indian automotive scene, the A-Class goes up against the BMW 1 Series and the Mini Cooper five door in the India. The A-Class is priced at Rs 24.95 lakh for the A180 Petrol and Rs 25.95 lakh for the A200 diesel (all prices ex-showroom Delhi).

The facelifted A-Class features an updated headlamp cluster with the option of LED headlamps and a similar upgrade to the tail lamps as well. Of course, you also get a new bumper with a more aggressive design and larger air intakes along with an updated rear bumper with a new exhaust tip. The new car also gets a set of new wheels that help make the A-Class look even better than before.

On the interior front, the A-Class gets a new steering wheel and new trim levels on the dashboard. The new car will also get an upgraded 8-inch central screen and ambient lighting in upto 12 different colors. The updated Mercedes-Benz A-Class also gets a chrome bezel on the central console and added leather interior options. The dials too have been updated with a new bezel and a slightly upgraded design with the higher versions getting a chequered flag pattern.

The A-Class will continue to get both petrol and diesel engines. The diesel is a 2.1-litre engine that makes 135PS of peak power and 300Nm of peak torque while the petrol is a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine with 122PS of peak power and 200Nm of peak torque. Both engines are mated to a seven-speed dual clutch gearbox and a front wheel drive drivetrain.
