After being spied recently, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Convertible was spotted yet again, this time cold testing near the Arctic Circle.

As we had reported earlier, the design of the C-Class convertible seeks unabashed inspiration from its coupe cousin on the front fascia. However, a slightly revised rear end with new body panels, a modified trunk and a retractable soft top are identifiably different features.

The convertible also has a windscreen-mounted air deflector and a power retractable wind stop that is located behind the rear seats for the climate comfort of the occupants.

A three-spoke steering wheel, circular air vents, a free-standing COMAND infotainment system and optional Burmester surround sound system on the inside also come from the coupe while safety features could include the Attention Assist, Collision Prevention Assist Plus, Brake Assist System etc., with other optional offerings.  Reports suggest that ‘airscarf’ seats and new controls for the soft top can also be expected.

Under the hood, engine options will unsurprisingly mirror the coupe and include a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder with 243.3PS of power and 370Nm of peak torque as well as a twin-turbo 3.0-litre V6 with 367PS of power and 517 Nm of maximum torque.

A Mercedes-AMG C63 Convertible with a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 engine that produces 474.5PS of maximum power along with 648Nm of torque is also expected to be available in one of the variants later on.

The Mercedes C-Class Convertible is expected to debut at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show and could hit the roads in America by June 2016, with a possible Indian launch sometime in the future.
