The ongoing monsoons have created destruction in not one but three states of India - Kerala, Northern Karnataka and Western Maharashtra. And auto manufacturers are in full swing to ensure that the affected vehicle owners get a helping hand. Volkswagen was one of the first to announce their support, and soon after that, luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz sprung into action and offered theirs for flood-hit customers and areas.
The luxury carmaker has taken a series of measures to support the flood affected customers. It will provide free roadside assistance and has deployed additional manpower for the same. The carmaker has also said that it will strengthen its spare parts inventory across dealerships of the affected areas to ensure smoother and faster repairs. And to ensure faster spares availability, the manufacturer will import them through air cargo and will not pass the additional freight costs to the customer.
Apart from that, the manufacturer has also contributed Rs 48.60 lakh to the Chief Ministers’ relief fund to support flood relief activities. The carmaker had also deployed special cross-functional task force from the dealership in these states.
Here’s what Mercedes-Benz had to say:
