Mercedes-Benz gets into power play with the A45 AMG

Small, quick with a three pointed star and to compliment it, an AMG badge too, the all new Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG is finally out. For the first time in the company's history extending back over more than 45 years, Mercedes-Benz's performance brand is offering a fascinating high-performance vehicle in the compact class.

Following tradition, the A45 AMG boasts the most powerful series production four-cylinder turbo engine in the world. With a maximum output of 360 PS and a massive 450 Nm of torque, the little Benz is capable of accelerating to a 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds with a limited top speed of 250 km/h. The high power and torque output and the combination with the performance-oriented AMG 4MATIC all-wheel drive as standard lead to extremely dynamic performance.

And it looks the bit too. Sporty, muscular, the A45 is dynamic in every sense, and boasts true AMG0 genes in the truest sense. Grabbing your attention on the inside are the sports seats in Artico man-made leather/Dinamica microfibre with red contrasting topstitching, the multifunction steering wheel with shift paddles and the AMG drive unit which set new standards in terms of both appearance and quality.

To make drive angry, the A45 boast a top notch suspension set up and components from its hyper sibling the SLS AMG making it one of the best handling hatches out there. Going on sale later this year, keep watching this space for a drive report soon.
